Grandma – Oluwakemi Owonubi (Deaconess) tribute

I had hoped you would stay a little longer. I had hoped we would do a little more. I was privileged to have you here as long as I did and I know it.    You were part of my plenty shakara. My Grandma. But a little longer would still have been better.

You needed to go, and I understand, it wasn’t as fun or nice anymore. I used to joke that you were busier than me and I know I could be busy. But I always said if we compared calendars yours would be busier. Yep, you were always active and that’s part of what made the last months, not fun. I didn’t like it as well and so i understood.

Well, i didn’t expect it. Cos I was praying, we all were, and I had my picture of you, laughing and gisting. That was the picture I had, still have.

But I know you’ve gone to be with our  Almighty Father. I was initially really sad, but then I was reminded that where you are, you were no longer ill, but you are in perfect health, even better then perfect, praising God, like you always did, “A dupe lowo Olorun” was always your response. And more importantly, that I will see you there, one day in perfect health, and that got me excited. And so I look forward to that day, when I will see you again.

Thank you Grandma for your love, for your care, for your inaudible care, you didn’t say it, but I knew and I love you even more. You are my heart, my best friend, my everything and more. Thank you for your prayers for me, I know it’s because of them, I stand as who I am today.

God bless you Grandma. Love you always.
